North Decatur Lions Club

In 1925, Helen Keller asked the Lions Club International to become her "knights of the blind in the crusade to prevent blindness." Since then Lions Club International has helped millions of people receive eyeglasses and eye care.

Working with the North Decatur Lion Club, Yasmin will send the glasses she collects to the Lighthouse. At the Lighthouse, volunteers sort, wash, read, and tag glasses. Glasses will be distributed locally and abroad as part of the Lighthouse's Mission to foster sight conservation and restoration.

The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1949 as a major service project of the Lions of Georgia.  In addtion to sight conservation and restoration, the Lighthouse's misson also includes hearing conservation with a particular emphasis in both areas on youth.
